Debate on destigmatizing menstruation and addressing menstrual poverty in the Czech and Slovak context.
Menstruation is a regular, cyclical, and completely natural part of life for many people – yet it’s still often spoken about in whispers. And for many, financial barriers make even basic menstrual hygiene products inaccessible.
Together with experts from Czech and Slovak initiatives @sola.pomaha, @dostojnamenstruacia and @intymyta, we’ll openly discuss:
- Who is actually affected by menstrual poverty (and why it’s crucial to speak about menstruating people, not just women),
- What material support looks like in practice and what it takes to make systemic change,
- How stigma impacts access to education, healthcare, and everyday dignity,
- Why menstrual justice is a matter of human rights and social inclusion.
Moderated by Terézia Ferjančeková – co-creator of Vyhonit ďábla, face of the educational series Na záchodcích for Czech Television, and activist for free access to menstrual products.
Come join an open, inclusive, and shame-free conversation about menstruation – the way it deserves to be heard.

Recommended admission for the event is 100 CZK. The venue has limited capacity, but you can reserve your spot in advance. You can make a reservation for free or choose to support us by booking for 100 CZK – the amount you contribute does not affect your entry, but your support helps the festival (covering materials for art workshops, venue rental, or guest fees). If reservations for a particular program are fully booked, don’t worry – you can still come and check at the entrance 5 to 10 minutes before the event starts to see if any spaces have opened up. Very often, a few spots become available. For those who have reserved a place, we recommend arriving 5 to 10 minutes before the event begins.
